Many companies have established discount programs as a show of appreciation for those who have served in the U.S. military. If you’re a veteran of America’s armed services, you may be wondering which retailers offer such deals.
In this article, I’m going to show you some of the stores that offer discounts to veterans and soldiers on active duty. Many of these deals are also available to immediate family members of those who have served.
Top Military Deals For Veterans
These deals are of special significance to money expert Clark Howard, who is a proud member of the Georgia State Defense Force. “Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t thank me for my service,” he says.
In researching this article, when I couldn’t find the deal online I called the stores in my area. I found that many retailers may ask you to show some credentials as proof of your military status for in-store purchases. For online purchases, the store may ask that you register on the web.
The qualifications typically include:
- Active duty status in the U.S. Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy or National Guard
- Veterans receiving benefits from the VA
- Family members of veterans or those serving on active duty
